Park City Transportation Guide

Posted on February 26, 2020 Leave a Comment

You’re pumped up for your ski vacation in Park City. Your condo is booked, your gear is packed, and now it’s time to think about how you’ll get around. But if you’ve never been to the Beehive State, you may be wondering the best way to get to and from the slopes.

Should you rent a car? Use ride sharing? Take advantage of public transportation? We’re sharing the full scoop with our Park City transportation guide.

Why You Shouldn’t Rent a Car

No matter where you’re staying in Park City, we highly discourage you from renting a car. Here’s why:

Traffic

Traffic on the 224 is already slow-moving enough when the resorts are opening and closing, and you don’t want to be another car stuck in the never-ending lineup.
Bonus: Buses get to drive in the bus lane/shoulder, so you’ll make better time on the bus!

Parking

Once you do make it through the Park City traffic, you’ll be disappointed to find that parking at Park City Mountain is nearly impossible. The lot is always full by 9:15 am, whether it’s a holiday or not. Even if you’re willing to pay $25 for the premium lot, you’ll need to pray for a miracle that there are any spots left.

Nightlife

You probably have plans to hit up the bar after a great day on the mountain. Park City has lots of apres ski options (on the mountain or on Main Street), but it also has some of the strictest DUI laws in the country. You won’t want to be driving even if you have just one drink, and parking in the downtown area is pricey and sparse.

The Best Park City Transportation Options

Hopefully by now you’re convinced that renting a car is not the way to go during your Park City ski trip. And if you’re still set on car rental, make sure you choose a 4-wheel drive vehicle to take on the winter weather. Choose a vehicle with plenty of cargo space so you can tote all of your ski gear, too.

Instead of opting for a rental car, we encourage you to rely on ride sharing apps or public transportation. You’ll never have to worry about dangerous, snowy driving conditions, and you’ll be taking the eco-friendly route. Here are some great transportation options:

1. Ride Sharing

Apps like Uber and Lyft are very popular in Park City, making for a convenient and affordable way to get from the airport and to the ski lift. You can even reserve a private car service or shared service if you’re unfamiliar with the app. It will still be cheaper than renting a 4-wheel drive car!

2. Public Transportation

Public transportation is free all over Park City, making it hands-down the best way to get around while you’re in town. You can even hop on the electric bus to take the express route anywhere you want to go.

Download the myStop app to get real-time information on the Park City transit bus system. You’ll love the live bus tracker feature, which takes all the guesswork out of catching the bus. You can also use Park City Transit On-Demand to request a ride via phone.

3. Canyons Village Connect

Staying at Canyons Village? You’ll love the perk of Canyons Village Connect, an exclusive, on-demand ride service that allows you to request rides to a variety of locations throughout Park City via the Canyons Village Connect app.

4. eBike Sharing

Winter is obviously not the ideal time for riding a bike around Park City, but if you’re planning to come back in the summer, consider trying our city’s eBike share program, Summit Bike Share. You’ll have more fun exploring Park City by bike, and you’ll save money and protect the environment, too.

Happy Travels!

Now that you have the low-down on Park City transportation, you’re ready for a seamless ski vacation. All Seasons Grocery can also help you by delivering groceries to your Park City vacation home. You won’t even have to worry about hopping on the bus or grabbing an Uber to get fresh ingredients delivered straight to your door. Start your grocery delivery order today.

Hosting an Apres Ski Gathering at your Park City Condo? Wow Guests With a Picture-Perfect Charcuterie Board

Posted on November 4, 2019 Leave a Comment

Charcuterie boards are an eye-catching arrangements of cheese, fruits, and savory snacks that look effortless when done right. But there’s much more to assembling a great charcuterie board than meets the eye.

When you’re making a grocery list for your board, it can be hard to dream up the perfect combination of snacks your guests will love snacking on throughout the night. And we haven’t even mentioned all it takes to put it all together in an artistic, photo-worthy fashion.

But never fear — we have a few simple tips to help you bring it all together with ease. Keep reading to get the details on pulling off a charcuterie like the Queen Martha Stewart herself.

Ingredients

Every great charcuterie board includes a delicate balance of tasty bites, ranging from creamy and intense to light and crunchy. Make sure you include a selection of at least three cheeses and something to dip them in. But after that, the assembly is up to you. Add in-season fruits, crunchy vegetables, olives and Italian meats, or nuts and breadsticks. Here are more ideas to draw from when you design your board:

Cheeses:

  • Goat cheese
  • Parmigiano Reggiano
  • Blue cheese
  • Gouda
  • Brie

Fruits:

  • Grapes
  • Figs
  • Apple slices
  • Dried apricots
  • Berries

Meats:

  • Salami
  • Prosciutto
  • Sopressata
  • Ham
  • Smoked chorizo

Veggies:

  • Carrot slices
  • Cucumbers
  • Snow peas
  • Red peppers
  • Grape tomatoes

Crunchy Snacks:

  • Baguette slices
  • Crackers
  • Marcona almonds
  • Cashews
  • Candied pecans
  • Breadsticks

Dips:

  • Fig jam
  • Raspberry jelly
  • Jalapeno jelly
  • Olive oil
  • Hummus
  • Bruschetta

Other:

  • Olives
  • Artichokes
  • Pickled peppers
  • Marinated mushrooms
  • Fresh basil
  • Rosemary

Assembly Tips

Once you’ve selected your charcuterie board ingredients, it’s time for the tricky part: putting it all together in a pretty presentation. Look for a wooden serving board or square wooden cutting board to display all of your snacks. Place the ingredients in small groups, without leaving blank space in between. Don’t be afraid to experiment until you get the look you’re going for. Here are some tips to make the board look more professional:

  • Fold cured meats into quarters to make a more stunning presentation.
  • Choose fresh herbs or whole fruits as the finishing touch to fill in spaces.
  • Place dips and nuts in small bowls to add interest to the board, and separate messier ingredients.
  • Pick a board with a lip so ingredients do not fall off the board.
  • Choose fruits and vegetables in a color scheme to tie the presentation together.
  • Slice some of the cheese ahead of time and lay the rest of the block on the board to diversify the look of the arrangement.
  • Place similar-colored ingredients away from each other so the board doesn’t look boring.

5 Tips For Throwing a Flawless Dinner Party on Your Park City Condo Holiday Vacation

Posted on October 17, 2019 Leave a Comment

It’s never too early to start planning for the holidays, right? And though your calendar may quickly seemed stuffed to the brim with events, parties, and holiday obligations, there’s nothing like a cozy dinner party to ring in the season with the ones you love.

But if just the thought of planning a holiday dinner party has you breaking a sweat, we’ve got your back. Take a deep breath and check out our expert tips for hosting a flawless gathering you’ll remember for years to come.

1. Set the Ambiance

A truly unforgettable dinner party isn’t just about delicious food and good company. Set your meal apart by paying attention to the subtle details many hosts overlook. Take time to create the perfect ambiance by dimming the lights, adding candles, and turning on a playlist that suits the mood.

2. Use a Tried and True Recipe

Dinner parties are not the time to experiment in the kitchen, unless you want to risk having a flop of a meal. Instead, cook something you’ve made many times — one you know will be a crowd-pleaser. And don’t forget to consider any dietary restrictions your guests might have!

3. Prep In Advance

Make the night of the dinner party go much more smoothly by prepping as much as you can the night before. Have a full day of work on the night of the party? You can even go so far as to set the table the night before. Other tasks you can prepare in advance? Create a centerpiece, chop vegetables, bake dessert, make dough, whip up a dressing, or clean the house.

4. Let Guests Help

You may be tempted to try to do all of the cooking and setup yourself on the night of the dinner party, but that would be a rookie mistake. Guests love to feel needed and involved, and you’ll love having a hand in the kitchen. So let them help with dishes, chopping food, or bringing wine to the party.

5. Have Some Conversation Starters Ready

Even if you’ve planned the perfect menu and set the mood, your dinner party could take a turn for the worse if your guests aren’t mingling with ease. Keep the conversation going with some pre-planned games or get-to-know-you questions.

Try Grocery Delivery Service

Another great way to ensure your dinner party goes off without a hitch is by using convenient grocery delivery. All Seasons grocery delivery service in Park City allows you to plan your menu and get all your groceries without ever leaving the couch. Order from All Seasons today and enjoy the beauty of groceries delivery, right to your front door.
